I was rocking the short for awhile, below are pictures of me rocking the short look.

January 2011 - January 2012 , my hair hasn’t grown much in length but it has indeed grown in fullness. All it took was for me to use hair growth grease, vitamins, and sew-ins (back to back) and i’m LOVING the results of my hair :)!

@lplamar HAIR TIP OF THE DAY! #6

  • My favorite hair brand
    • Lately the biggest hair crave is the Indian Remi hair (blue and black box) but I have tried the hair and it does not live up to the hype. Although the hair is pretty, it sheds to much for the price. After about three weeks, the hair frizzes like any other weave. Also it is not purely virgin indian hair. It has been chemically processed and is not 100% remy. Just a high percentage of the hair is remy. I will say it is one of the better remy brands in the moderate price brands.
    • I suggest buying vigin indian remy hair by the oz. Although the hair is pricey, the wear and quality is worth it. It can last from 5 months to 7 months which is technically cheaper than buying indian remy every couple weeks which can run you up to or more than $200. Also it looks more natural because it doesn’t have the shine caused from the coating on weaves. Currently, I have Juno Hair extra virgin indian remy which I do like.

@lplamar HAIR TIP OF THE DAY! #4

  • Sewing-In
    • Make sure your thread matches the color of the hair.
    • When sewing in, sew the track on the braid in a downward motion so that the track will lay flatter.
    • Secure the the track by double knotting at the beginning of the track and at the end.

@lplamar HAIR TIP OF THE DAY! #3

  • Which weaving technique should one use?
    • Glue-in: This is the best technique for short term and most natural looking weaving; however, this is the worst technique for the care of your hair. The glue can take out large amounts of hair if not installed or taken out properly. Moreover, it will only last you a week to two weeks.
    • Quick-Weave: They say it is a quick way to weave but the time it takes to mold the hair is not quick. Also this is another weaving technique that is horrible for the care of your hair. Your natural hair can not breath due to it being molded down on top of the glue used on top if not healthy.
    • Sew-In. Healthiest weave technique when installed properly. It allows the hair to breath. Braids will allow the hair to grow. It is also is the best pattern for wearing the weave for long periods of time.

@lplamar HAIR TIP OF THE DAY! #2

  • When it comes to sewing in, make sure you have a secure braiding pattern
    • I prefer to braid my hair in a braid pattern that goes straight to the back, Its about 8 braid going to the back of my head. This pattern is better than the S-pattern or circle pattern because when your combing, curling, and etc it wont pull the braid down. Also and most importantly, it makes the weave lay flatter which makes it looks more realistic.
    • For those leaving in a long-term sew-in, I highly suggest using kankelon (sp) braiding hair. The braiding hair helps keep your braids secure way longer than using your own hair. The braiding hair prevents the braid from becoming loose after lots of washing and etc which will allow the sew-in to last longer.
    • Also weave nets/caps are also great ways to keep the braiding pattern secure for longer periods of time. The downfall to the net/caps is that you cant clean or oil your hair easily because of the covering.

Product of the Day!: Tresemme Heat Tamer

i love love this product im so happy @Prettyinmemphis showed it to me! it was 5 bucks @ Walgreens couldn’t find it in the beauty supply

i talked about this in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X8PTrKZ1TE

  • To guard against heat styling damage and friction, spray this multi-use protective spray to keep your hair shiny and incredibly soft. It’s a fantastic tool for instantly transforming all hair textures, enhancing hairs’ flexibility to reform and hold shape.
  • Also, the moisture-locking vitamin complex hydrates and is heat-activated to guard against harsh styling damage.
  • Spray liberally 6-8 inches away from mid-shaft to ends. Its trigger spray offers easy misting.
  • Use both on damp hair before you blow-dry and on dry hair before curling or flat ironing to shield hair from damaging heat.
  • For the ultimate protection against heat styling damage, use with the new TRESemmé Thermal Creations styling line: TRESemmé Thermal Creations Curl Activator Spray, and TRESemméThermal Creations Mousse.

@lplamar HAIR TIP OF THE DAY!

    • When you’re considering getting a weave, think about how long you anticipate leaving it in.
      • If it is for a short period of time, do not waste your money buying really expensive hair. Regular human hair or low grade remy will due if your keeping it in for about 1-4 weeks.
      • If you are planning on having a weave in for longer than a month or planning on reusing the weave, buy more expensive/higher grade hair such as virgin remy.
      • I typically leave my weaves in for long period of time so I always buy virgin indian remy hair. I buy my hair by the oz. Currently I have 8 oz of virgin indian remy hair. It did run about $400 but it has no chemical processing and comes straight from the donor head. I am still using the same hair and this is my 4th month with the hair.
